Our Philosophy

We believe that every dog, big or little, old or young, deserves to live their Best Life. We also believe, that the people behind these dogs deserve the very best version of their friend.

Our training philosophy focuses on building strong relationships through communication, trust and mutual respect.

Best Life's training specialists are qualified and experienced, but most importantly, they care: about dogs and about people!

Courtney Cosgriff - Owner/Head Trainer

Courtney has always lived her life surrounded by dogs, but it was when she first experienced life with highly reactive dogs, that she took a particular interest in understanding canine behaviour on a deeper level. Courtney has a special soft spot for the dogs who struggle with the little things in life that many may take for granted, like going for a calm walk. For reactive or aggressive dogs, daily life can be incredibly stressful, and living with these dogs also becomes unquestionably hard at times.

We chose our name to directly reflect our goal: to help as many dogs and as many people, to live their very best lives together! Whether that is by working through existing problem behaviours or by helping new owners to build positive habits.

Courtney holds a tertiary qualification in Dog Training and Behaviour from the National Dog Trainers Federation as well as minor qualifications in canine nutrition. Courtney has years of industry experience and regularly attends industry seminars and workshops to maintain the currency of her education. Courtney also holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

She currently has three personal dogs: Buddy - 10yo Cattle Dog X, Jimmy - 9yo Rottweiler and Cyrus - 10yo American Bulldog (Pictured above L-R)
